Using green technology is a choice to use materials and systems that have less impact on the earth's resources and are less harmful to you and your family.
Sustainable and sustainability are buzz words, but they are also a reality that we should address now rather than later. We have the opportunity of repairing the damage we have done to the planet. Every thing we do big and small makes a difference.
Simple choices such as thinking long term about materials, finishes, mechanical equipment and insulation can make a world of difference to your living environment and your energy bills. A space that is comfortable to live in, has air clean from allergens and is filled with natural daylight as well as protected from the summer heat is a delight to live in. Think about your quality of life and do what you can.
For some clients, choosing materials and systems is the fun part; for others, it's a nail-biter. In either case, it can be challenging to wade through all of the research. In houses I've designed, selections were made according to both aethestic and environmental qualities.
